Night fishing off of Ft.Lauderdeale.My outoftowner friend got smacked by a flyin' fish.Dang near knocked him over board and dang near knocked him out.
While we were still laughing a him the seas were gettin' rougher.Did I mention it was a few miles after dark thirty?
Well to make a long fish story short,We were coming in to an out goin' tide and wind.SMALL BOAT!!!!
Our hero that was once almost knocked out by the fish decided to help and drop the top so as to keep us from fighting so hard against the wind.
Problem,We weren't ready for this move.We lost the top and two antennas.
No one was was killed or became bait but he never got on a boat with us again.

I'm going out this weekend,hopefully.

I can see some new fishing gear being invented. First up would be a helmet with a face mask. Then a padded vest of some sort. Maybe a catch screen mounted in front of the console. If you can eat these things it would be a step in the right direction to end world hunger or maybe fill a freezer. A shotgun would be fun on the ones that didn't land in the boat. Ya'll need some alligators up there to help thin these things out. Just watch where you swim.

Mississippi River @ St.Louis

Howdy,
We have them around here. Twenty years ago Brother in law Jeff and I used to think the little 6-10" jumpers were cute. Also, they always seemed thickest where we would throw the net for bait. A person can't hardly find bait around here anymore and a lot of the carp are as large as those in the video now.
Last year, for the first time, we saw them in Reelfoot lake in TN. I expect the limbliners introduced them as bait. They should be thick enough to walk on in a couple of years.
I know that here in the river fishing is poorer and bait fish are scarce because of them.
For all the controversy up north I'd have to advise them that if you have seen them it is too late.
Thanks for the video. Those of you who did not view it and have not seen them should take a look.
Thanks
Mike

Shameless --- some carp, like some people, will do anything to get a little YouTube exposure ...
