No heart attacks please. I am trying this out before I install the free float fluted DPMS handguard. Going to go shooting tomorrow. The rifle feels pretty heavy right now but it looks great.

sweet :D

I just ordered AIM Sports Solid Metal Carbine Length Weaver / Picatinny Quad Rail Handguard System for mine with a bipod.

Nice! Looking good Grover. The coyotes & p-dogs won't know what hit em. What is the muzzle device you're using? From the pictures it doesn't look like an A2 birdcage.

M&P 15 owners here could start a virtual militia. All of us set up for completely different roles. Long range, intermediate, and close quarters. :)

I change this gun cause I am still in the process of figuring out just how I want her. When some writer called them barbies for men, he really wasnt kidding. I also have a truck that I play with but the parts are bigger and more expensive. LOL
JaPes that is a fluted thread protector while I am waiting on my new muzzlebrake to come from the machinist this week. After taking off the birdcage I just couldnt bring myself to put that ugly thing back on and the test version of the brake worked so well and actually quieted down the rifle that I am excited to put it on. So rather than waste another crush washer or peel washer (they seem to be pricey on their own) I put on the thread protector he made. I like the look and it gives me a recessed crown.
I just finished my last project so it was back to the Sport. I refinished and recold blued a 10-22 Mannlicher that I traded for. The color is English Chestnut and I took off the scope and put a Simmons 3-9x30? back on. Here are the pics:

Added a list of the parts to the OP!! Gonna leave it this way for a while...maybe add the BAD lever to it, but give this configuration a chance instead of just a couple of days. LOL

Nice rifles!!!!!!!!! I like how you added the monster green color in the stamping recess. That is so cool!

.....brake worked so well and actually quieted down the rifle

Muzzle brakes redirect the hot propellant gases towards the rear of the rifle to reduce recoil and/or upwards to reduce muzzle climb. In doing so, they redirect the noisy muzzle blast in the same direction(s). Any redirection, off of straight forward, is going to increase the noise detected by the shooter or bystanders.

If you've ever practiced any close contact handgun drills where you index the handgun against your rib cage while firing, you would be familiar with the increased muzzle blast you experience since your face is now nearly above the muzzle rather than being behind it. Along with the increased blast comes increased noise.

Increased noise is the #1 complaint with muzzle brakes.
I don't understand how your muzzle brake quiets the rifle.

BTW....nice looking 10-22.

Stu...I think it just directed the sound away from me more. It seemed quieter than the A2 birdcage. And the reason I have the big scope is so I dont have to have an upclose and uncomfortable confrontation, thats what mr 45acp is for and "it dont need no stinking brakes" LOL
and Thanks the 10-22 when I got it had been highly abused by my 1000yard nephew....
