It has to be my 5" Model 27-2 shipped September 4, 1975.

At one time this was my brother's favorite handgun.
He replaced the factory Smooth Target grips with these beautiful
Smooth Presentation Targets made of Goncalo Alves.

He wore this in the leather holster to he Police Academy Ceremony and once again when his office was choses to work
security back stage with the Secret Service For President Ronald
Reagan came to Salt Lake City.

This one is a keeper.

That's a remarkably nice-looking gun for one that has obviously been fired enough to leave case head imprints on the recoil shield. My 6" M27-2 was shipped a couple of years after yours (Feb 1978) and its finish is that nice.

One of these days I might just have to take it to the range myself and throw some lead with it.
I've never shot this one for some reason.

I don't shoot mine very much; had it about 4 years and I've only put maybe 20 rounds through it. I have a M28-2 that I shoot instead, I don't want to mess up this work of art.

This same gun was my inspiration to get a 5” 27 and put together a presentation case for it. I also had Curtis Harlow make me some grips for mine. I would like to think it comes close to Kenny’s example

I'd love t see it.
