Just picked up a brand new 686 plus 4" (7 rounds) in .357/.38 special. Love this gun and plan to own it forever.

Thats a fine piece. Congratulations on your purchase. I have its blued brother, 586, its only a six shot though.

I love it. I handled one just like it today at my local shop. They had just gotten four from S&W and they said they wont last long on the shelf. I also checked out a 627 PC and a 686+ Talo model. The trigger pull of all of them was so similar the difference to me was negligible. I've been looking for a 686 SSR but have been unable to find one on a shelf, I may just buy the 686+ as it has really nice grips and an extra round. I'm beginning to doubt the value of the extra cost of the SSR. My 325 NG has an action that rivals all of the above. Congrats on your purchase. Money well spent.

I just got the same revolver and I love it. I love 6" revolvers but there is something superbly well-balanced about a 4".

I agree about the 4".. And nice grips, are those made by hogue? They have the same shape as the hogue rubber grips I just ordered.
