Hello all, I have a brand new 686+ 3" at the local gun store enjoying it's 10 day waiting period.
When I signed for it I noticed that the stamping on the yoke said, "386-?" It didn't actually have the question mark of course, I just can't recall what the number after the dash was. Is it normal for 686's to be labeled "386" on the yoke stamp? It is definitely a 686...it's heavy stainless steel. I believe the actual 386 was alloy with black anodizing right?
Sorry for the beginner question. I honestly can't recall what my previous S&W's said inside the yoke.
