I got my new M&P yesterday and honestly I can’t think of any better deal out there than these. I payed $601.00 for it and it’s light years ahead of my G20 for features. I’m fairly happy with the trigger. I may do some polishing to get it a little bit better. I also took advantage of the deal Scheels had on the $200 vortex compdot.

Hope it works out for you! Let us know what ammo you run through it, and what the results are. I'd be especially interested in hearing your experiences with anything 200 grains or heavier.

What optic is mounted on this? I am in the process of looking for an optic on mine

The Vortex CompDot. It's intended to be a house/package deal version of the Defender XL. FWIU, compared to the Defender XL, the CompDot lacks a water drain hole and uses a tool-less battery compartment. They both use the Deltapoint Pro footprint. CompDot can be found for $200 on sale from Scheel's vs $320-350 for the Defender XL.

It’s a Vortex CompDot. They are the same as a Vortex Defender XL. Scheels has them on sale for $200. It’s a phenomenal deal and with the Vortex warranty I couldn’t pass it up

I have no plans to run 200 grains or higher. I will be running Underwood 165gr hollow points if I ever carry it and will be running Underwood 150gr xtreme hunters in the woods. All I have to worry about here is hogs. No bears in East Texas.

Mark, my PC 10mm has run the following heavy bullets flawlessly:
DoubleTap 200 Grain Hard Cast
DoubleTap 230 Grain Hard Cast
DoubleTap 230 Grain Equilizer
Grizzly 200 Grain JHP (had issues with this)
Sig Sauer 200 Grain V-Crown
Buffalo Bore 200 Grain Hard cast

I love this gun

What kind of groups are ya'll getting? I bought one yesterday and using Blazer 200 grain 10mm ammo it shot three inch groups at 15 yds from the bench rested. My XDM shot the same ammo for one inch groups. Is there a break-in issue with these. Thanks RLL

I'm running Hornady 180 gr HAPS, XTPs, and Nosler 180 JHPs over longshot. Getting 1-1.5" @ 25 yards. They're pushing 1200+ fps. Biggest difference was going to the CH Precision optic mount. Groups were erratic w/ the stock plastic mount.

You might want to also give Underwood a try. I recently chronographed several different 10mm loads through my G20, and the Double Tap all measured lowered than advertised, even out of a 6” barrel. The Underwood loads were all above the advertised velocity, which should be expected out of a 6” barrel, and very consistent.

As stated you will love this gun as its an excellent shooter. I shoot Barnes 155gr for defense and usually Freedom Munitions at the range. I would use a Buffalo Bore Heavy Outdoorsman or a Dangerous Game round if I were going to be in large game areas.

I had this gun for a little bit now and it’s definitely replacing my g20. It’s functioned flawlessly, it’s much more comfortable and the trigger is infinitely better. I shot them back to back last weekend and I think I’m going to see about trading the Glock towards a CSX E series
