My new Ruger GP100 .357 Mag.Match Champion.

Nice choice. I had picked up one of these (used) earlier this year. I have to say it had the best action and overall fit and finish of ANY new production Ruger revolver I've handled. Trigger was actually VG right out of the box . ( They tumble polish some of the internals to give a smoother action. (but did benefit from a little more polishing and a spring kit install.) Loved the grips and FO sight too. I miss that gun. Can't remember why I sold it off but I'm thinking it was likely in a weak moment where I "needed" another L frame S&W 357 :-)

I read all the positive reports about the MC and couldn't wait to buy one. Felt it would be an improvement over my WC model. After a week, I couldn't wait to sell it. Action was not as refined as that of the WC, despite all the hoopla. Also, the gun did not "handle," as a sixgun should. It's gone now, so I can breathe a sigh of relief. I hope your experience is better than mine. Good shooting!

GP 100

There are four gun shops within a reasonable drive of my house. I hope to add a used 6" GP100 just as soon as I can find one. I wasn't aware of the model variations.

The only difference between actions with a MC and GP is the MC has hammer shims. There's a big difference in price between the two models and for under 20 bucks you can but a complete set of custom cut shims to your specs from a website here in Mi.

Ruger Double Action

I had an MC and sold it. I couldn't shoot it well at all. I liked the trigger action and the gun looks great also but compared to my 627-5 pro I decided to sell it. I shoot the 627 so much better and the trigger action is as good as the MC if not a tad better after lubing and dry firing a good bit.
The Ruger MC comes in two models, one has fixed rear sights and the other has adjustable rear sights. Mine had the fixed sights. I believe they are the same price though.
The MC is a very good gun and is built like a tank for sure. I did have to send mine back to Ruger because the cylinder and trigger would lock up. I had it back in a week and it did it again so back to Ruger it went. Got it back in another week and had no more problems with it. Ruger does have excellent customer/warranty service.
