my oddball wish list

there aren't many threads on this part of the forum, so to help it along, here's my list of guns (today) that i would like to own, in no order of preference.

a 686 in 3", rubber stocks.

an Astra 400. i first saw one of these being carried by a bad guy on the tv show "Firefly" and thought it was both ugly as sin and very cool looking. what i've read about it since then indicates it's a serious firearm that shoots very well.

a 1911 in 38 Super. i first learned this caliber existed from one of Stephen Hunter's novels that has Bob Lee Swagger using one. Swagger wanted it because it was good at shooting through cars. i figured if Bob Lee had one, i ought to have one. but of course, i have no idea where i would find any ammo for it these days.

i also want to build a "Stairway to 1911". i have a 1911 in .22lr, next in .380, 9mm, 38 super, and finally .45. for some reason, i'm not interested in 10mm or .40. i don't know why, but the heart wants what the heart wants.

i also have a curiosity about .327 magnum.

i don't know if i will ever own any of these, but that's my oddball wishlist, as of today.

I only have one .38 super 1911. Here it is with a .45 combat commander.

have you found any ammo for it lately?

My 38 Super 1911 is what got me into the reloading game. It was inherited from my Dad in 1989. Being pre-internet, ammo was hard to find even then. It is worthy of being on your list, for sure.

After I got it, and couldn't find ammo locally, I mentioned to my (gun loving & favorite) Uncle that I was thinking about trying to find a 9mm barrel.

He looked at me and said "Why would you want a 9mm when you have a 9mm magnum now?" I mentioned ammo availability, & he said, "So, reload your brass." And I took his advice.

My wish list is simply a nice 32-20 S&W to go with my 32-20 lever gun, and an 1894 Marlin in 32 H&R mag to go with my @ S&W 631.
