My Son made Eagle Scout on 2 November. We had his Court of Honor last Sunday.

Ed started as a Tiger Cub Scout at 6 and has never stopped. This summer he was not only the Senior Patrol Leader for his troop but finished his Eagle project. The project was an ADA wheel chair accessible picnic area.

38 years ago at the age of 13 I opened up a Christmas present. It was the familiar blue S&W box. Inside was a new Model 13. My Father and I were avid shooters and collectors much like my Son and I. I wanted to find him something really special to not only remember the event but have something he would always cherish. I decided to go with the familiar blue box as well.

It's a Model 39-2 with ivory stocks. The stocks were carved by Sol Weisenfeld about 25 years ago. It took some horse trading but the Eagle Scout now has an Eagle.

He's a straight A student in the Junior Honor Society and plays on the basketball team. His long term goal is West Point or VMI. I am so proud of him.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

You should be very proud of your fine young man. Living the scout oath and laws will serve him well all through his life. All my very best, Joe .

Congratulations to your Son.
It is something that he will cherish for the rest of his life. Now for him to remember that it was other people that helped him on the trail to Eagle. Now it is his time to fly. He need to give back some of what was given to him over the years.

Bruce my friend, you did well and I can see a proud DAD. Congratulations to your son for achieving Eagle Scout, what a great Christmas gift, and rightfully so; you should be very proud. Merry Christmas.

Your son is a fine young man.

Words to thrill the heart of any dad. I've been privileged to hear them myself. My son is an Eagle too, as am I.

I like the tradition you are carrying on. Congratulations to both of you!

(The Coast Guard Academy could use a fellow with the cut of your son's jib....hint, hint.....)

That's a fine young man. I was 2 easy merits badges away from finishing my Eagle requirements. I was 16 and girls became more important. I am 57 and deeply regret that I never finished... to this day. I lost sight of the prize. How often in life do people do that? I used to blame others for not pushing me harder....but now I know it was ME that never finished the race. I have run 2 marathons..it was like quitting at mile 26.1.
Anyway congratulations to your son and your family. I love those Eagle Ivory stocks and the SW 39-2. I hope he appreciates what he has.

Congratulations to you and your son! Earning my Eagle 19 years ago is one of the things I am most proud of. Scouting changed my life.
