My UUUUGLY Model 28-2-Update on Post #57

I'M IN COMPLETE AGREEMENT WITH les b. I DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE JUMPED ON THIS DEAL......

IMHO, THIS GUN WILL CLEAN UP NICELY. ONCE YOU KNOCK THE SURFACE RUST OFF IT--MAYBE GENTLY, WITH SOME COPPER "STEEL WOOL" AND SOLVENT--YOU CAN PROTECT THE FINISH, AND THE GRIPS, WITH A COAT OF JOHNSON'S PASTE WAX.....

I THINK THAT YOU WILL ENJOY THIS REVOLVER IMMENSELY, AND YOUR PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP WILL GROW, THROUGH THE YEARS. BEST WISHES.....
I just HAVE to ask this Joe. What is the deal with your caps lock key? Is your keyboard broken or something?

You obviously know where the [shift] key is located since you used it to type lesb's name in lower case.

I'm sure someone has to have told you by now that in forums like this ALL CAPS is considered shouting. So I'm really curious about why you are "shouting" all the time?

Seriously. Not trying to be rude or be a jerk, I just have to ask - because my curiosity has finally gotten the best of me.

Thanks for the post one eye joe!

The thing about this Model 28-2 is that the more time I spend with it, the more I've grown to like it. This wasn't addressed in the original post, but when I first brought this gun home, it was rusty on the outside, and the action was very stiff. It turned out, the reason the action was so stiff was because it was absolutely full of debris! I suspect that someone had sat this gun in a holster out in a barn somewhere for literally years and years. When I removed the side-plate, it was completely jammed with dead bugs and leaves, etc. Yuck! However, there wasn't any rust! Amazing!

After cleaning out all the trash, and replacing the trigger, this gun now has a nice, smooth 10# 12.5 oz. double action pull, and a 2# 9 oz. single action pull. :)

Now that I've got my heart fixed, I'm really looking forward to getting this gun out to the range and putting a bunch of .38's and .357's through it! :)
