Yesterday my wife and I headed out to visit my Mom for Mother's day.
We brought the bikes and my sister and her friend met us for a nice ride on the W&OD trail.
My sister and I usta do a lot of rollerblading on that trail back in the day.

After we got off the trail, we had a nice dinner and some cake with my Mother.
It was well after dark by the time we got home.
A fun time was had by all!

W&OD.? ya gotta help me out on those little regional lines...
W&OD means Washington and Old Dominion.
Used to be a railroad that ran from Arlington VA to Purcellville VA.
It was converted to a paved trail.
When I lived in Fairfax Va, I usta spend a lot of time bicycling and rollerblading on it.

Off I go:

Skating backwards on 5 wheel Rollerblades:

Stopping for a snack in Purcellville:

Dang, I usta be skinny!

Seems like a lifetime ago.

My wife and son ride quite a bit on two local trails...

The B&A trail which is an old railroad right away between Glen Burnie and Annapolis, MD. The railroad ran between Baltimore and Annapolis, but the upper part is now part of the Baltimore Light Rail System.

They also ride the BWI trail which circumnavigates the BWI airport.

There is also a connector trail between the two.

I spent 4 hours on the Kokosing Gap trail today. Had lunch IN "The Hangout" in Danville, Ohio. This trail celebrated it 25th anniversary as a "Rails to Trails" bike path last year.

We have the C&O Canal Towpath out here and my wife and I spend plenty of time riding it.
There's a connector trail that leads right here to town.
We can start our ride at our back door.
