I just received this El Paso Saddlery (EPS) "Tanker" shoulder holster after a several months long wait. I've been using this other "1895 Hardin" shoulder holster from EPS for some time. EPS still produces nicely made leathergoods. Does anyone else use either of these?

I don't own anything from those guys but love it when you post those pics.

I just noticed you have no retention on the lower model. Is that a problem?

Thanks.

TN RAT:

The lower one ("Hardin") straps on the left beltline with the leather thongs. The other strap goes over the back of my shoulder and fastens on the right beltline with the loop shown.

Yep, use one with both a 3" 629 and a 3.5" 27-2. It's a great rig and my favorite holster of all I have. I want to get an EPS "Holiday" rig for a 4" L frame, too, when funds allow. Why isn't your Tanker lined? I thought pig-skin lining was standard, or has that changed?

PS - get one of their "ammo slides" next time you order from them, they are very handy and fit the strap very well, keeping their place w/o sliding around. Very well fit.

They make great holsters. I just made another order and was told the wait would be 6 weeks. That ain't bad.

6 weeks is what they told me too but when I got my #88 it was 8 weeks to the day. However, don't take that as a complaint. There are so few PERFECT things being made in the US these days, I'm happy to wait a while for an EPS holster....

My next leather order will be an EPS Tanker for my 4 5/8" Bisley Blackhawk. Money and time be damned.

P34fan, wow, that's a pair of handsome rigs you've got there. I swear by EPS.

I love that Hardin rig! I've been playing with the idea of getting one for woods carry, but I just never seem to get around to it. How comfortable is it?
