I spent the day yesterday at a local auction house where some really spectacular guns were presented for sale. I was fortunate to be the high bidder on three Model 25's, a 25-2, 25-5 and this 25 ND (4 screw of course). This 6 1/2" 45 Target Model of 1955 came with the original box, that was a little beat up, and a factory letter showing delivery to C. Greenblatt of NYC on February 26, 1962. In the box was a S&W muzzle brake that was not mentioned on the invoice. The beautiful walnut target stocks were a real plus for me.
Two 6" 27-2's, one blue and one nickel, ended up in my possession as well. The nickel version will need a little cleaning but the blue example looks like it was never in a holster, or shot like the 45 caliber guns. A couple K frames, etc. ended up coming home with me but that's for another thread.
I'll spend the day wiping and shining these guns up after a day of auction goers handling them. This 45 Target is the star of the show. And yes Lee, I did try to get all the good ones.
