Want to see a movie that makes you upset? Look into Narco Cultura.
It's a documentary and shows an U.S. born Latino that is a musician and wannabe gangster living in El Paso, TX as well as a CSI Agent living/working in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
The musician is member of a band that plays Mexican Polka and their lyrics are plain disgusting. They sing about the cartels and praise their work. They profit from violence since apparently thousands of people like/support their business. The band plays all over the U.S. and the crowd is over excited, drinking, singing, drugging, etc. The movie also shows the wannabe gangster shooting his thuged out 1911, not hitting a thing as he himself admits. You'll shake your head when you see his stance, grip, trigger pull, etc.
The CSI Agent on the other hand has lots of work to do. They had days were they processed 19 homicides in 48hrs. Some members of his team got assassinated and he's just trying to make it somehow. Their boss quit the job when he got a letter in the mail threatening the life of his family if he doesn't resign the same day. Living in fear becomes the new standard. But he won't leave Juárez, that's where he's born and raised.
I don't want to spread this disgusting kind of business, that's why I don't post links to the band/music.
But here's the IMDB link:
Narco Cultura (2013) - IMDb
The movie itself is available on Netflix.
Don't get me wrong, I like Mexico and its folks. I married into a 50/50 Mexican family. I like their food, hospitality, they welcome you with open arms and make sure that you don't feel like an outsider. They give their last shirt for you if they have to.
This movie is a good documentary IMO, but most of the people that it shows disgust me. People who attend such concerts should be immediately thrown out of this country.
