I don't see the issue. It's 2021. And this has been ongoing since 30 or 40 years ago. All government identification cards have pictures. Drivers' licenses, military ID, Federal, State, and local employment IDs/credentials, and gun licenses and permits. Even my Dallas Police Department Volunteer ID card has my picture on it.

As a matter of fact, Texas uses the same picture on TDLs and LTCs. Saves a lot of time and trouble.

No politics. It's a no brainer and pictures ought to be required. If North Carolina was issuing concealed handgun permits without photos they were in the Dark Ages............

What Yoda said... My HCP from Tennessee has had a photo on it for as long as I've had it... Roughly 20 years...

Yeah surprised you guys don't have em, both my CT and CO permits had pics.

South Carolina just pulls the digital photo off your DMV file for your driver's license.

Well, since our permits have our DL # on it, I really don’t see a need for a picture. One needs to show their DL anyways to purchase a gun, and to the police when encountered performing official duties.

A DL and CHP should suffice,

Bill, I also don't see the issue; I have a pic on my Kansas drivers license, Kansas concealed carry, my US passport, and my DD form 2. (United States Uniformed Services Identification Card) It don't bother me.

Hypothetically lets say if someone who was not supposed to have in their possession a firearm got ahold of your CCL without a pic, they could then purchased a firearm in your name. not good.

I wouldn’t mind a photograph on my carry license but I’m gonna say straight away that my EDC Walther PPQm2 is a flat-out homely, ugly pistol. It doesn’t photograph well from any angle but whatever the gubbmint wants I guess, I’m just a lowly subject of the working class.

In NY, we have photos on our pistol permits, but you have to show your pistol permit and a photo ID to buy a handgun.

Just your photo ID for a long gun.

As has been mentioned, there’s no case when a NC CHP (Concealed Handgun Permit) would be presented not together with a NC Drivers License. All this will do is create more work and increase costs.

How is this a problem? Sounds like the tin foil folks are getting bored.

The last time I had an ID without a photo was my drivers liscense in 1965.

If one reads the original statute when the law was passed the Sheriff (issuing official) was forbidden to require a photograph for the permit. The statute requires the concealed pistol permit to be presented to law enforcement with a driver license or DMV issued ID card.

The issue is very political and explaining it would get me dinged and the thread closed.

My Nevada permit has my photograph. I may not look pretty, but it still is me. No big deal.

My approved Form 4s have my photographs.

My scuba diving certification card has my photograph, but it was taken about 40 years ago. That's when I still looked pretty.
