NCIS Origins

this horse has been violated badly. need to put out warnings to petting zoos.

I am a casual fan of the original NCIS. It is like Gunsmoke for my generation. Gibbs and his trusty companions always do what is right and get the job done.

Orgins suprised me. I figured it was going to be like the other spin-off, just a watered-down version of the orignal. But Orgins seems to be of a higher quality. It reminds me of a movie or the early seasons of Miami Vice. Very serious and cinematic. The actors playing young Franks and Gibbs are great, especially Franks. Because of its early 1990s settings, it avoids the silly trends seen in many shows today.

Gibbs and most the other agents carry SIG-Sauer. Franks carries what appears to be a Model 19 with target grips in a shoulder holster. It works well with the boots, cigarettes, and jeans!

I also have been watching "Origins" since it debuted. It is quite dark compared to the other series shows but that has helped set it apart. It is starting to get its stride and I like that they are starting to flesh out the other characters. One of the things I liked about the original series was the building of the back stories of all the characters.

I do have one gripe. The "big secret" that Gibbs sniped his family's killer in Mexico has to be one of the worst kept secrets within the entire Navy. He told just about everybody and everybody else just figured it out.

I will admit that I have been a big fan of the original NCIS since its beginning. I have the entire original series (up to date) on DVD's that I binge watch periodically. I was not much of a fan for spinoff shows however.

Abby figured it out .:)
