Near Miss at Chicago Midway Airport

I saw that clip from Chicago Midway today too.
There was a very similar clip of a small jet carrying the Gonzaga basketball team almost taxiing into the path of a commercial jet taking off not too long ago.
What is UP with the ATC system lately? Has something changed in the last few months, or are the chickens just now coming home to roost? This kind of stuff has me almost afraid to fly!

That was about as close as you can get without having little bits of aluminum flying all over the place. Did the airliner's mains touch the runway? I couldn't tell, but it was a nicely done go-around, and the pilot may even be able to log a touch and go in his logbook.

Thankfully no, the mains appeared to be three or four feet from contacting the runway before the pilot executed the go-around. Had the mains hit, the spoilers would have deployed which would have dropped the nose and started slowing the jet immediately. Had that happened it would have been another sad news day. Kudos to the pilot for watching and anticipating the incursion.
