sore shoulder after another day of shooting the "sport". Who makes a good pad for the end of the stock and where to get?

In a joking sort of way....If the AR is "hurting" you, you are doing something wrong! The .223/5.56 is a very mild round.

Brownells is one source.

I shoot a AR match rifle in compeition and needed a little more stock length for sitting and prone. With a regular buttstock, you can get a Pachmeyer slipon in black that will add about an inch.

I have the UTG model on my Sport, mostly for the extra length of pull. I had to use some silicon glue because the way some of the people who have shot it somehow (and I dont have a clue how because it never happens to me) caused it to slip off. But just a little silicon adhesive and it doesnt go anywhere.
