Two mistakes on my part; first, i posted this to another forum here (not the 'smithing one) and second, I failed to clearly ask a question.

Does anyone know of a source for the ejector rod and plunger I need to start the below project?

Thanks

(original post follows)

I have a no dash 60, a 3" stainless bbl, a spare stainless hammer ready to bob, and a cut down stainless cylinder release. I'm poised to convert the "2" pistol I never carry (usually carry my 642 when I want a J frame) to fill a different niche in the carry-gun collection.

I did not find a full length ejector rod listed on either the Brownell's or Numrich sites. I could pull the ejector rod from my 651 to see if it would work but thought someone on the forum could provide info on how to source the last parts I need.

Hopefully there are not left/right hand thread issues that will prevent me from converting this pistol.

Smith makes a 3" Model 60 currently, so presumably they have some full-length ejector rods. It might need to be cut down a bit, though.

I believe the Model 60 was introduced after the thread pitch swap, so you should be good there.

Good luck with your project!

Here is two of them listed at the factory:

Part #:
216120000
070660000

Call service dept and they will fix you up. Less than 10 bucks.

You'll need a center pin also to go with the full length rod. I have a friend that had done several 2" to 3" conversions even on 642's. Bob!
