I just removed the lock on my 686+. I want to make a plug screw for the hole, but I cannot figure out which tap size to use. As 500Magnumnut relates in his earlier posts the hole measures exactly .200. That puts the hole at between 3/16 and 13/64. As near as I can figure the tap should be a # 12. Am I correct or is my math a little fuzzy again. Also my 686 has a flat mainspring with a strain screw so it's different than the disassembly as shown on the You-tube video. Seeing as how I sent the cylinder in to be machined for moon-clips ,I didn't have the it, so I had to hold back the thumbpiece, hold down the locking bolt and squeeze the trigger to clear the frame to lift it out. Good thing I've got 13 fingers. I hope I can get everything put back together properly. Thanks in advance for any advice or help.
