I have a 1076 and 1066, need a holster for them that will not hurt the finish and be IDPA approved. Also, I am aquiring a PC Tactical .40 5" and would like to know some hints on holsters for it as well .. all help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I guess that I am not going to get any help.. thanks

It may take a day or two to get some feedback. Things usually slow down as the week goes on and there is more revolver action than semi-auto on the Forum.

You might ask around in the semi-auto section.

Aren't those stainless guns? If so, not many holsters will hurt the finish. Holster wear is hard to do to a stainless gun.
Sorry, I don't shoot IDPA so I don't know what to look for in an approved holster.

Excepting my P3AT, I carry revolvers exclusively and am not familiar with what IDPA requires in a holster. Welcome to the forum though!

SIE,
My everyday carry is a 3953 in a Blade-tech IWB. I shoot 3-gun with a Blade-tech stingray (CZ75). Both are adjustable for belt width and cant, and both are IDPA approved.

I don't think you're going to find a holster that doesn't wear the finish to some extent. When you choose a shooter or a carry piece, wear is going to be inevitable. You're going to ding the grips, get some muzzle wear on a revolver, etc..

The edges of the slide are "shiny" on my 3953, but the fact is I like to shoot my guns, and a little wear doesn't break my heart.

Hope this helps.

You should look here www.comp-tac.com they make great competition and carry holsters. Your finish should hold up OK even with kidex.

I appreciate the responses.. I will look in to the suggestions.. anyone else have some good leads?

Take a serious look at Kramer holster as well as Milt Sparks. The biggest requirement in IDPA is that the trigger guard be covered. Many will use a good IWB holster in this game, many times it is the same rig that they really carry in which what it should be.
A good quality OWB holster is used heavily as well. Strong side and you may or may not use a retention strap. As long as your gun is secure while you move about you will be fine. Go to the IDPA website for more clarification.

I think that I have decided on a Blade-Tech IWB for a 4566.. should work with the 10mm's.

For the .40 Tactical.. I will go with a Blade-Tech DOH for a PC 952. According to Smith, whom I called today.. should work perfectly. They also recconmended any holster for the 645 could be used with my PC Tactical .40 5"
