Need Help to ID this 1977 Caravelle Watch

This a 1977 Electrotime Set-o-Matic By Caravelle.
Why is the watch set-up like it is. I have never seen a wrist watch
like this before. Is there a name for this kind of set-up'

I doubt it was designed like that. Notice the crown (stem) doesn't properly align with the "6" O'clock mark.
I suspect the face got rotated about 93 degrees CCW, either from abuse or an attempted home repair.

Similar one for reference on eBay shows the proper alignment of that model.

This is working watch with a new battery. I can't see anyone doing all that
work to turn the dial ect.

My thought is the set it up to strap around a bedpost or pole of some sort. That way the face is oriented up.

Yes, the crown is attached to the movements and can only clear one spot on the watch case. The face can be oriented in any direction.
