I have a Pro series 1911 that has the Novak adjustable rear sight with the fiber optic light rods. Today I adjusted the sight and one of the light pipes now falls out. looks almost as if it was super glued in place. Does anyone know how these are held in place?? it is mushroomed shaped on the end closest to you eye, but it looks as if the other end just sits up against the adjustment screw. Seems weird to me.

The fiber optics rods are held in place by melting the ends and it is best done by candle. They will break over time, either from recoil, holstering, bumping or ... It is best to have spare rods on hand.

Either Brownells or Midway has an instruction video on how to install the rods. They also sell replacement fiber optic rods.

Cannot get to the rear ones, they are recessed in the sight and sit right up against the adjustment screw. Each tube is beveled to to make room for the screw
