Need info on M1 Garand Stacking Swivels

I have a couple of M1 Garands. One I got from the DCM about 1984. I thought that would be all I needed. Several years ago I was in Anniston, Al. and went to the CMP store. I ended up with another Garand. I recently decided I needed a Garand in .308. So I ordered another one from the CMP. It is one they rebuilt with a new barrel and stock. I took it to the range, shot it some and I am happy. As I was putting it in the case, I saw the stacking swivel lying on the ground. I could not find the screw. I called CMP and they are going to send me another screw. I got curious and checked the screw on my other Garands. One is staked and one is not. Both came from either the DCM or CMP. So I am curious if there are any specs on rather or not the screw is staked? I guess I could call and ask, but I thought someone here might know. I have toyed with the idea of taking the course on building one from the CMP, but do not think I need another one.

I would stake it, it came out didn’t it. Likely staking is overkill unless you are running around the boonies like a 20 year old private.

Future service would be easier with a little dab of blue Loc-tite.

I'd even try clear fingernail polish.
