Found one in a local shop today and am REALLY looking hard at her.
First off what is the difference in the regular 4013 and a TSW 4013?
This one has some wear but is in pretty decent shape, has an older set of the thick Hogue rubber grips, only one mag and no box.
I can likely walk out with it for $300-350 + tax which seems a strong deal but I am only guessing here on what this one should bring. The shop is in Alabama and has a BUNCH of nice 3rd gen S&W's for what looks to be some good prices
Talk to me here guys should I jump on this 4013 TSW?
Have a 4043 and a 1066 already and was really looking for a CS 9 or 40 for EDC when I stumbled on the 4013 today so??

I'd take a TDA over the 4043 any day but that is just me. If it is a 4013TSW for that price and in nice condition it would be snatched up already.

You will need to search this forum for the TSW differences but it is positive.

In that price range, it is a steal if all checks out. I wouldn't sell any of mine for that cheap, sorry. You can't buy the effort to make one that cheap and we still feel the need to ask first before we commit to a 3rd Gen. BUY IT ! SHOOT IT ! LOVE IT ! As I have been told many times by a particular member here!!!

The 4013TSW is a great pistol. I have two of them, one shooter grade, the other almost NIB. It carries well. Does the one you are looking at have a rail? The pre-rail models are a little easier to find holsters for, is why I ask. If its in good shape & you can get it for the price you mentioned I'd be all over it.

Only reason I hesitated was I was really looking for a CS 40 or 9 for EDC and the 3.5 TSW 4013 was an unknown in value. Wanted to make sure it was the deal I thought it should be. Let you know what happens. I'm pretty cash strapped at the moment and was out with my son today and just stumbled on it.

My 4013TSW is my favorite carry pistol. I prefer the pre-rail version. For that price, even a "shooter grade" condition would be a good deal.

I don't know, maybe its just me, but at that price something is out of sorts. these tsw's are quality pistols and should be in the 450-550 range, the early no rail versions are very desirable and a breeze to carry. I'd check it out closely and make sure it wasn't hammered to death. Otherwise, like others have said"be all over it"

Thought the same thing man on the price it seems to good to be true. Will go back on Monday and have a close look. My son won a promotional pack at work for Tower seats at the start finish line and pit passes for the Talledega race this weekend so he drove up and then we headed out but stopped at this shop on the way for a quick look. These guys normally know their stuff so I'm a little wary here. I know them well they will always deal and it was priced at $375 in the show case so---. I have no doubt I can get it for $350 or maybe 300. Thay have a dozen or more nice S&W 2 and 3 gen autos in that same case with most priced under $400.
They also had a flawless Belgium Browning 9MM High Power that I dated at 1982 off the SN in hard chrome with the gold trigger and adjustable sights in the Browning bag that I could have walked with for $875!

The 4013 was based on the single stack 45 size frame, the TSW on the double stack 9 MM frame. Both are great carry pieces. I actually prefer the 4013, quite a bit slimmer, while giving up only one round capacity. And yes, if the pistol's not beat to death, that's a good price.

All tsw guns have the stronger squared slide rails , but I prefer the rail guns to the pre rail . The reason is the de-horning of the pistols around the trigger guard , no sharp edges . If you don't like the rail , it falls off easily enough.

You guys crack me up with the EDC. I try to carry every day, my carry guns are a CS9 and a Shield 9. I am just shocked at how big those two can get , to the point of considering a 380 mouse gun just to have a gun with me all the time. Yes, my 3913 is bigger than the CS9 and the shield when holstered at my side.

Bro my EDC gun right now is a tiny Taurus .380 TCP I carry in a bulldog PDF style holster ( and out to say 15 yards shoot very well with it). I carry a 1066, 4043 or Browning High Power every day in the winter under my coat, vest or a sweater but can't carry comfortably in the summer unless I Open Carry ( which is legal in Alabama without a permit BTW).
I'm looking for some way of carrying a more substantial pistol comfortably here this summer than just the tiny TCP.

Broker thanks for that info brother. I am a 10mm fan in a BIG way and have given serious thoughts to taking one of the smaller Sub compact S&W 3rd gen .40's and converting it to 10mm. If a standard 4013 is based on the .45 single stack frame rather than the 9mm platform then looks like I have my future candidate!!

I was able to pickup one about a year ago and its a great pistol and my EDC. Great shooter and mine is the pre-rail double stack mag version. In my hands I can shoot the 4013tsw way better than my 6906, I would grab it while you can.

I have a pre-rail 4013TSW. It's about the same size as a 6906. Easy to carry and shoots great.

There has been several threads, & I believe a group buy on the 4013 to 1013 conversion. My search-foo isn't working well today, can't locate the thread I was looking for. But here's one example:
