John has designed our new J frame grips (RB only). We have a full-sized J-round combat grip and a two finger grooved J-round boot grip. These two styles will be offered notched for models with hammers and un-notched for models without hammers. They have an enclosed backstrap only. These will not work with the "lemon-squeezer" grip safety models (model 40 and 42).

We have a few testers and are looking for one or two more that will give us honest feedback. We have a couple for model 60's so would like other models. What you will need to do is:

1. Try our grip on one of your J frame models and see how it fits. Take a few pictures showing fit and email them to us. Let us know if they fit well or if there were any fitting issues.

2. Take your J frame out to the range with our grips installed (or shooting area) and put a few rounds through it (unless they hurt) and report to us on how they felt. Were they comfortable? Did they feel natural aiming? How did they handle recoil? Were they too thin or too thick? Were the grooves comfortable or did any areas rub fingers the wrong way? Etc....

We are looking for honest feedback. In exchange for the pictures and report, you get to keep the grips. Grips will be similar to the ones in the photos.

Please post below if you are interested, and if so, what model you would like to try them on and what grip you would prefer. If you don't want to list what model you have you can send me a PM but you must state below that you are interested. Grips to choose from are:

1a. Notched Boot for models with hammers
1b. Un-notched Boot for hammerless models
2a. Notched Full-sized combat grip for models with hammer
2b. Un-notched full-sized combat grip for hammerless models

Please see the attached pictures. I was using a handheld light (orange flashlight) to try to highlight the grip but it put a weird yellow glow on the revolver.

I'd be willing to test drive a set on my M&P 340 (the notchless, boot variant), I would bet running that with magnums would provide some feedback! I currently use a DeSantis clip grip.

Model 36 and 37 pre lock, if this is part of your market. Un-knotched Boot grip for double action shooting if the revolver will function with standard hammer spur, message sent.

Thank you

Good morning....

I’d be interested as well....

While I also have 36’s and 60’s snubbies, how about if I give the notched full-sized combat grips a try on my 60-15, 3” bbl?

These would seem to be closest form factor to the OEM synthetic grips which came fitted on the gun.

Thank you for the opportunity!

Good morning;
I would love to provide feedback and range info for the notched full size combats. My EDC is the 637-2 with original Altamonts, the others are Model 34 and Model 36. So 22LR, 38 Special and 38 Special + P would be the impressions.

Thanks for considering us in your study.

If you still have a set available for a Model 60, I’d be honored to try out a set on my 60-4 with adjustable sights and 3” underlug barrel to test their efficacy on this “outside the box” variant. I do have a small history of doing product tests and writing reviews for this forum and others.

I suspect that I am too late to the party but, I would be privileged to test these grips if you still need someone. I have a model 640 no dash and would love to test the boot grips. Thank you for providing this opportunity to the members of this forum.

I’d be interested in an unnotched set for my no lock (internal hammer) 340PD and will be more than happy to evaluate them as you specified. I have XLG hands and have been looking for a boot grip that covers the bacstrap. Pls email me w/details at [email protected] (PM not working). Many thanks for this opportunity.

Thank you for all your responses! There is no such thing as being "late" to the party. We just want a variety of models tested with our new grips to make sure they will work on all models (except grip safety models which are already excluded). I think we will choose a few testers from here since there is a nice variety of models, so keep the responses coming. Thank you!

I have vintage S&W Model 36 2" and 3" revolvers (exposed hammers) and a new 442-1 (shrouded hammer) that I have been trying with various grips.

I would be glad to test and evaluate any/all of your offerings on my guns and provide detailed written feedback after using them.

Thanks and best wishes,

Frank

I have a new model 60 in 357magnum caliber that I would like to try with the notched combat grip. I can test them out and send to you some nice pics like this

I have the shrouded hammer 649 and would love to test a set of grips for you.

If you have boots that fit the 649, I would buy them now.
