I recently bought this gun at my local shop. As you can see it is quite nice with the Gold Box. What date would you guess for it's manufacture. The serial number is S 78022.

WOW - that one scratches a lot of itches - BEAUTIFUL package!!!:cool::cool: Based on confirmed dates in my collection, I would think it shipped in late 1950 or early 1951, but only a letter will tell you for sure.

Holy cow! That's an ANIB beauty with barely a turn line! Doesn't look like it's been touched since 1950-51. Congratulations on a great pickup! This must have been a big week for members showing off their 3-1/2" .357 Magnums (and Model 27s)...there are 3 or 4 posts of great revolvers. Enjoy!

This is my 1950's edition of a 3 1/2 incher. SN is exactly 2001 numbers earlier the the OP's. It has the "Speed Hammer" and the earlier style cylinder release latch. The numbered grips were replaced with more shooter friendly Altamonts. Red insert and white outline sights were added before my purchase.

Mike that is gorgeous revolver but curious if you have had the grips off.
I’d think with a 50/51 gun the grips would have sharp shoulder at top.
Please let us know if serial number is stamped in panel.
