Every Saturday, I participate in Awareness rallies with ten or twenty others at a major shopping center to advocate smaller government, lower spending and less regulation.

By actual count, the gestures from the public in our favor have been running at a ratio of 25 to 35 to one. But recently, one passerby hurled a death threat.

Can you recommend a shoulder holster rig for my 4" barrel, Model 14 S&W? I've been carrying it in a zipped hunting pouch on my belt - my fellow rallyers are unaware that I do - but with all the winter gear I wear, I need something handier, an actual holster, accessable through my partially unzipped coat.

Thanks much.

I think Bianchi still makes the X15, which is a dual purpose revolver/semi-auto holster. The #2000 & #2100 were dedicated holsters.

Checkout the Bianchi X15 and X2100. Here's my M19 and M66 four inchers in them. I replaced the elastic harness with leather ones.

I have been wearing Galco shoulder holsters for years. They are interchangable so you can use different guns with the same harness.

Initially I was carrying a Model 19, then a 66, later a 686 and for the last year, a five inch Model 1911. All that was required was get another holster and with the 1911 I had to get a mag pouch.

Each of my guns were four inch barrels and once you get used to a shoulder holster, they are very comfortable.

Now for some advice, get the tie down straps. I am a fat guy that has trouble with the britches falling below my mid line. Once the belt gets below the fat, the pants will go to the floor if not immediately caught. This was embarrassingly learned in a WalMart while both hands were full (note to future: always use a cart). The tie downs keep the pants up where they need to be without my having to constantly reach to readjust the pants.
