Need to identify a gun

This one was inherited from my Dad and has no box, no visible model number that I can find. It is a hand-ejector revolver, .22 caliber, 6" barrel, with s/n K 55952. Appreciate help in determining model.

It is a K-22 Masterpiece that likely shipped in 1948.

In collector circles some would call it a pre-17 as that is what it became a decade later.

All of those are K-22 Masterpiece revolvers.

Yep, your Dad passed down a K22 Masterpiece. It should look very similar to my 1948, s/n K40403. Very nice revolvers and extremely fun and accurate to shoot. Enjoy!
