How do these guns shoot for the money? I have a dealer flyer from a friend and noticed they are made in .357. Always wanted a .357 single shot rifle and there's not a big selection of em. Let me know if you like yours or not. I have a contender but don't want to put the money out for a stock & bbl. Thanks, Larry.

Had a heavy bbl one in 223 with a good scope that shot close to MOA with good ammo and when you mastered the awfull trigger.

I have one in 17HMR and one in 223. I like them both fine especially since they are ambidextrous.

Pretty darn accurate I'd say. No moving parts, more or less. No barrel to bed into a stock, not much to inhibit consistency. Except trigger control. Go for it. You won't go wrong.

I was interested in the long .38-55 gun, but they no longer show it on the website, so I probably won't be getting one of these guns.

The only complaints that I've see on these...or any break action rifle including the Encores is usually with the more powerful calibers....270, .30-06, .280, 7x61S&H, and .22-250.

Yes, usually their triggers are not so hot. :(
I'm waiting to see Rossi's new rifles that I was told about by my dealer. :D

I have one in 30-30. It shoots sub moa groups. I had one with a heavy barrel in 223. It didn't do so well. As others have stated, the trigger feels like a Chinese nutcracker.

I've heard that if you send it in for a barrel swap, you can complain about the trigger, and they'll smooth it up for you free.

I have several handi-rifles, a .44, .357, 45-70, 30-30 & .223. The rimmed calibers shoot sub 1" moa with the 30-30 the best of the lot. I like them a lot and use them especially in wet weather hunting since they are so easy to clean. I use the pistol caliber rifles to practice snap shooting off hand because it is cheap to practice. I think they are a great buy.
My wife killed a nice 9 pt. buck at 50-60yds with the 30-30 last year and I killed an 11 pt. 160 class buck with the .44 3 years ago.
I like them so much, I sold my Thompson Center Encore.
NEF which was owned by Marlin is now part of Remington after they bought Marlin. The extra bbls are now done in Illion.

I dont own one but I watched a fellow at the range with a 45-70 shoot some groups at one hundred yards that I would not have believed if I hadent see him do it!

I have the factory open sights on my .357 & .44. These are the original style that are the pistol style squared off front post and square rear fully adjustable. At 50 yards they hold a tight cluster from a stable rest. I have never truly measured the groups except for the 30-30 and .223, both of which are scoped. I have trouble with the new style sights that come on these rifles. They are the bead on top of a post front sight with a U notch on the rear.
