Hi everyone,
New to the forum and the smith and Wesson family. I own a number of other firearms such as a sig 516, benelli nova, ruger 10/22, ruger sr22, iwi jericho 941, walther pk380, a Marlin .22 passed down by my father from the 60s, and an old World War II 1911 9mm passed down by my grandfather who served in the military. Haha typing it out it sounds like an odd collection.

Anyway, I just purchased a 15-22 moe fde. Really excited about it and it seems it will quickly become my favorite rifle. I need some opinions though on scopes. I have a Nikon p223 3-9 that I was going to put my sig but ended up with a Burris mtac with a fastfire III mounted on top. But then the other day midway USA had the bushnell ar22 2-7 for $80. I couldn't pass it up. So now my question is which scope should I put on there?

Neither, IMHO. I did the scope thing when I first got my 15-22 but soon realized that this is not a sniper rifle. The 15-22 works great out to 100 yards but past that it becomes difficult so I ended up with a red dot with a 3X magnifier. Now I have more fun because I can shoot faster at close and far distances and haven't touched the scope since.

I think that either scope would be a good fit. I originally mounted a Nikon p22 2-7 on mine and wasn't overly impressed with the accuracy. Put a trs 25 on for awhile just to try out a rds. Back to the scope now because that is just what I am used to using. I put a bunch of stuff from tacticool on now and trying to figure out how to run the scope and rds for a close shot

I'd suggest a 1-4x scope or a red dot. Zero it at 50 ft and you're good from 25 ft to 100 yds. This rifle isn't a tack driver even with "good" (expensive) ammo so more scope is really pointless.

I have a Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn Shotgun1.75-4x shotgun scope on my S&W 15-22 and my Ruger 10/22 and they function great and they are very clear and they cost $75. They also have a circle X reticle that where the Horizontal and vertical intersect there is a circle. I zero them for 50 yards and that is what I like to shoot. It's still easy to shoot 100 yards except you would have to reset the zero if you wanted the rounds in the bullseye. I Love this scope combination with the AR-22.

Fyimo,

What bipod is that?

Thanks.

I'm not sure anymore what brand the Bi-Pod is as I bought this several years ago.

Thanks everyone for your input. Not expecting a tack driver or anything, but I do like a little magnification. I think I will put the Bushnell on there and see how it does.

Also, fyimo that looks exactly like a UTG bipod I have that I got an Amazon for $25. They are great.

I think you are right on about the Bipod as I was buying UTG stuff for my S&W 15-22 which included the front vertical grip.

You have the scopes......... try them both..... have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've gone with a TRS-25 red dot on mine......... but would consider a Weaver 1-3x20 shotgun scope like I have on my Ruger 77/357 my .357 utility rifle.
