Santa came early this year. I was at a LGS and at the counter, there was a "discussion" going on 'tween a customer and sales person. Customer was MIFFED. He had a new looking 19 in his hands, and was unhappy (understatement) at the offer being made to "trade up" to a Ruger LCP. He stormed out and I followed. A little discussion followed. It was a 19-6 2.5" bbl that had less than a box thru it. With box & brochure, etc.

He said he'd take $350 for cash, and I hemmed and hawed for about 2 seconds, and said sold. after the gun changed hands I asked what the shop owner had offered him. He said $120. TOWARD the list on the ruger.

No I understand the LGS has to make a buck, but......

Anyway, my new toy's S/N is BKV8XXX. Any idea when it was built?

Your gun was made in the early part of 1992 (Jan, Feb) if I am reading the SCS&W catalog correctly. It seems to fall in the transition period between 1980 thur 1983 when they started using a 3 letter prefix and 4 number suffix. Hope this helps.

$ 350. for a newer 19 snub!! :eek:

While my funds are limited at this time...my long-term goal is to procure a few 19/66 snubs.....and at those prices...I could start NOW!

Sure wish S&W would return with the K-frame 19/66 series...
I know, I know...cracked forcing cones, etc...but the overall sexiness and size of the 19/66 snubs make them my all-time favorite wheelgun.

As others have said before "Stop Thief." Ya Santa was in your corner that day.

Hope you will be able to shoot and enjoy it.
