new 40c runs great

Since good news is reported less commonly than bad, here's some good news. I'm very pleased that I added a new 40 compact to my M&P collection (40 pro 5" and 9mm Shield) for winter carry. Wife and I shot 150 rounds today, mostly range factory reloads with some gold dots. Zero malfunctions. Easy to shoot and accurate. Trigger is more than OK for carry, IMO.

Prep was running a snake down the barrel, squirting aerosol gun cleaner along the trigger mechanism and in the striker channel blow out hole, and lightly greasing wherever metal meets metal. All three M&Ps have been flawless. Good job to S&W.

Good to hear bob! I bought another full size back when the **** hit the fan over a year ago....kinda wish I woulda bought the compact instead....however since one never has to many guns....the compact is on my Christmas list for me....LOL

I've got an M&P40 which I bought used from a LEO friend of mine as well as an M&P40C which I bought new. Great handguns! Not one mishap & they shoot anything I feed it but I still use quality ammo for range & SD. .

Congrats!!. Love the whole M&P line up. Have both the 40 &45 in the Compact and Full size. No frill get the job done guns!.

Have the 40c as well but my Dad adopted it a while back...always performed great. Added the .357c a bit later and my son-in-law currently carries that one! So now I don't have any M&P's in the safe at all! Did someone say two free mags with a 9c purchase? Maybe I'll just have to get by with 3rd gens and K frames.

40c Bliss

Like the other posters, I've had nothing but satisfaction with my 40C. The pistol runs great and it's my daily carry. I've never had a single issue with ammo and the Crimson Trace Lasergrip works flawlessly.

I've read some of the dissatisfied posts written by people who had problems with C.S. when sending weapons back to S & W for service, but so far...knock on wood...I have not had to be subjected to such an ordeal. I DID give up on buying a single magazine from them over a year ago after sending in numerous emails inquiring about my order. The reps that responded finally admitted the chances of fulfilling my order was slim to none.

I too own a 40c. It came from my brother when he bought his Shield. Made in 09, the quality is 100%, as it seems some recent ones were "rushed through" to keep up with demand. Since it works 100%, I have no interest in putting in newer updated parts like others have done. As a carry gun, the trigger is just fine, & if something ain't broke, I don't fix it. My only S&W gun. Both my FS 40 and 40c have run flawless since day one. Taking the FS out for a 150 round spin today.......

Congrats on the 40c purchase. Mine is on my hip as we speak.
