New 41 FTE Problems

I have a new 41 (manufacture date of 7/26 in Springfield) which is having serious FTE problems. Been to the range twice and put about 100 rounds through each time; and each time had at least one failure per mag. Problem seems to be independent of ammo type (shooting mostly CCI) and independent of which magazine.

Anyone else having problems? Does it need more break-in? Is it time to send it to Smith?

I would wait until you have at least 500 to 800 rounds thru it before calling S&W. Some new guns are stickey until you get the edges worn in a wee bit. I would also stick to the CCI LR ammo as well as its the best for this gun. Also try putting a drop of oil on the loaded mag on top of the top bullet just before you load the mag. It may help.
