My wife & I have been members of the Basset Hound Rescue here in Georgia for several years after adopting a hound in '07 that is still a member of our family. We attend their fundraisers twice a year. Last Saturday, we met "Jed" a 10 year old fella that was as thin as a rail after completing heartworm treatment and had been a stray in a rural county in the Atlanta area. He was being kenneled by the group as he had no foster home yet:

Well, he now has a forever home with our other hound "Cooper" who is about the same age....:

There ain't no dog like an old dog! You done him right, and you will reap the rewards of having a second wonderful companion for the rest of his days! Treat him right, old dogs deserve respect.

He's a handsome ol' boy!

Bless you for taking in a senior & giving him a place to call home. Give him a big hug for me.:D

Old Dogs

As the Tom T. Hall song, "Old Dogs & Children & Watermelon Wine" goes.......

"Old dogs care about you, even when you're old & gray".

As I've said before, I have never trusted anyone who does't like dogs !

As a member of the Melrose Humane Society, I have to say, you have just made my day. God Bless you:)

I'm smiling brother:D

You and your family are very special people - he looks like a real sweetheart as does his new playmate. May you have many healthy happy days with both Jed and Cooper!! :D

Good for you. Jed is lucky to have adopted you. Our first dog when we married was a Bassett we named Patricia. She was a gentle, loving dog. We were blessed to have had her. Jed has obviously found the right humans.
