I had to order a new Ellaison sight for my vintage 1974 Gold Cup National Match 1911. I posted a few weeks ago that the original one flew off the slide after 50,000 + rounds and being 50 years old. The very small and fine threaded screw and the sight blade itself had stripped and was no longer capable of being adjusted. It is without a doubt my all time favorite target an competition pistol!
I bought it from Kensight and they still sell the original style Ellaison Gold Cup NM sight in the exact same configuration. Included were all the springs, pins and screws for a perfect drop in fitment. I just roughly adjusted the sight screws for windage and elevation by eye in my workshop and set out for the range this morning. Got there and from the very first shots the sights only needed to be turned a few clicks to the left and 2 clicks up for elevation. Well I am back in business - they work great!!
Kensight shipped fast and I received my order in 3 days after placing it. The sights were also a but overpacked but that is a good thing! The only bad thing I have to say about Kensight is they were not terrific about responding to my email questions. After they sent me an invoice I used the link to let them know I was a bit pissed. They apologized and all in all it was a very good purchase. Best of all is that my favorite pistol is back in business again! If anyone needs sight parts or a new sight, check out Kensight.
