The latest addition to my Smith family and my new EDC. I've been wanting one of these for a while and couldn't be happier. My BIL is a FFL and collector and had one of these in his collection that he never used/shot. Talked to him about a straight swap for my CZ75 P07 Duty 9mm and he said yes. He gets the benefit of having a 9mm with a threaded barrel he can use with his supressors (he also has his class III license) and I get the carry gun I wanted. Kinda sad to see the CZ go. It is a great shooter and makes a hole where it's pointed but I really like the .40 cal round. Nothing against 9mm and I don't want to start a caliber thread again, just a personal preference.

Took it to the range yesterday and put ~200 rounds through it. Accuracy was good (for me) at all distances from 5-25 yards. Will keep the stock trigger and look for some TFO's to put on it as well as some Xgrips for my full size magazines. The holster is a rocky river horsehide make which conveniently fit both the CZ and my mid size M&P .45 I carried. Lucky enough it also fits the 40c really well. Have already moved the mag release over to the right side (right handed shooter, again personal preference) and put a little color on it. Am headed out tomorrow to find some Speer or Federal HP's to load up with.

Just wanted to share. Oh and by the way. Some of you already know this but there is a big difference, for me anyway, carrying a compact vs a midsize on my hip.

Just bought a 40c myself, got around 200 rounds through it. Love it. It is my EDC for now, but I still love my 40 FS. I'm short but stocky and can carry either OWB without any issues.
I bought a xgrip extension so I can use a 15 rounder in it if I want.

I also got another pinky ext. and tossed the flat base plate in the box it came in along with the back straps I don't use.:D

Nice. My other .40 is a Pro Series with the 5" barrel. Love it but it doesn't fit in my holster.....well it fits but the trigger isn't covered  so that's a no go. Like you I just have to stock up on the goodies for the 40c now. Sure is comfy IWB. :D

I owned the FS 1st. When I bought the 40c, it fit the FS holster sans the shorter barrel. Covered the trigger, snapped in perfect etc. It just didn't feel good no matter where I wore it, Southpaw, usually 7:30-8 ish. Thought I had made a mistake buying it.

Ordered a holster specifically for the 40c and it feels great now.

I don't have the shape for IWB, but OWB suits me just fine with either gun. I just love them both!!!:D

I haven't seen a Pro series live yet, (maybe better if I don't)!!! LOL

Looking at night sights next, gotta decide which one will get them 1st.

BTW, holsters are www.pantherconcealment.com. Leather is great but I just like the kydex to go with my plastic gun(s)!!!

I love my 40c too. Still waiting for Midway to get the 9mm compact barrels in stock and I will like it even more.:)

Barrels and mags

I want to get 9mm and 357 sig barrels for both the .40c and the FS .40 just to have the option of switching them around if I want to. It's nice to have that choice with one gun. I used my .40 Pro for a tactical course over the summer. Not one problem in ~500 rounds and very happy with the accuracy at all distances from 5yds to 50yds. I love my M&P's :D
