New favorite brew

I'll drink a Hamm's or a Grain Belt. Those are local, or used to be. I think when you drink American Lager, or "regular beer", you are really just drinking the label. There isn't that much to choose between them.

Old Style, Spotted Cow, from next door in Sconnie. My favorite is Summit Extra Pale Ale, brewed right here in Saint Paul. That one is a little more like a craft beer, but it is better than most of them.

I'll drink some Bell's, from Kalamazoo. Their Two Hearted Ale is top drawer, and Oberon is pretty good, too.

The other day I tried Stella Artois, Inbev's flagship beer. It was different, and pretty good. But I'd still rather go local.

Feel free to back up your beer truck to my door anytime you like. I kinda drink what is in my budget. Sam's, Blue Moon and Fat Tire come to mind. I do like to try the not so ordinary and micro beers. But when not on sale I'll gladly take home a couple of Millers.

Yes, it is. And it isn't too expensive. If a restaurant has it on draft, that's what I'll order. But Sierra Nevada Torpedo is nearly as good, cheaper than the Bell's at the wine store, and is now made in North Carolina, so that's what I buy for home consumption.

Does anybody just drink regular beer?

Liking one kind of beer would be akin to liking one kind of gun. What would be the fun in that!? Variety is the spice of life. If I didn't try different things, I wouldn't now own a S&W humpback revolver (638-3). Having tried it, I now love this little revolver. I guess ignorance is bliss. If you don't know what you are missing, it leaves more of the good stuff for those with more developed pallates😜!

The list of beer that I DON'T like....

The list of beers that I don't like would be very short compared to the ones I do like.

Like before, Shaeffer's is one of those on the short list. And PBR. And I tried Olympia because Clint was drinking on in a movie, but it was heavy and nasty. Foster's isn't bad, but the only thing I really like about it is the great big can.:D

I absolutely loved Foster's on tap in New Zealand and Australia. I was overjoyed when Canadian brewed Foster's became available, but alas it wasn't near as good as the original. Then when Foster's moved its North American brewery to the US, I tried it again. Bah! I would rather drink PBR from the can......and I don't, no won't, drink beer from a can........

I remember that old C&W songs lyrics. "There's no place that I'd rather be than right here. With my red neck, white socks, and Blue Ribbon beer"
I'm an ordinary working guy. Nothing fancy. Just decent and ice cold is fine.
I was at a wedding recently. The beers offered were brands I never heard of. Yuppie micros I guess. So I picked one. I can't remember the brand. It tasted sour, like a mouthful of pine needles. Supposedly it has grapefruit something or other in it. Grapefruit does not belong in beer! Let me tell you! I don't think I finished the one I had, and that's saying something.
