Hey guys, just joined the other day. My names Billy, from Hamden, CT. A couple months after my 21st birthday, in June, I applied for my CCW permit. Got it a week ago. I joined these forums hoping to find out more about the S&W Sigma. I was researching online about the sigma, because of it's cheaper price, as well as the Ruger P95. I read all about them, as much as I could, and found they had very similar reviews. I went to my local shop to hold and feel them, and decided on the Sigma (the rebate helped my choice needless to say). This is my first gun. I have yet to shoot it, just bought it yesterday morning. I bought a cleaning kit, a box of ammo, and a holster for it. I haven't sent in the rebate yet, I am still debating on what to do with it.
I am pretty excited to eventually make it to a range to test it out. I cleaned the gun today, because I did not want to shoot it before it was cleaned. I have read reviews and it seems everyone is having flawless performance from their Sigmas, and I am pretty nervous that mine may not be that great, (but hoping it will be). A quick question I have is that I got the 9mm model, and it says 9mm luger. Is there a difference in 9mm when it comes to luger? Are there other types of 9mm? I am hoping the box I got is considered luger, I will have to check before I go shooting. Anyways I am looking forward to learning about guns here. I am also nervous that I may have somehow not cleaned the gun right, since I am a newb. I used the break free oil alone, because it says it is a cleaner and a lube. I figure it is all in one, am I wrong? Thanks for your time guys, sorry I wrote a book.
