I've been reading this site for a long time, but just registered, so figured I would say hi.
I only have one Smith at the moment, and old (but nice) 39-2. Today I looked at a 36 no dash that a co-worker just inherited. It has the original box, cleaning rod, manual, even the warranty card. This fired me up a bit.
Back in the late 60s and early 70s I sold guns, and was really into them. Dropped the hobby for years, just started back shooting a few years ago. They sure don't make guns like they used to!

Thanks for the welcome.
I'm in Jackson County, not too far from Athens. Watkinsville is not far away at all.
I did slap forget about one S&W I own - a Model 22A. It shoots really well, but I like steel and walnut.

I went to the Firing Lane last week and rented a plastic gun. Never had shot one, just wanted to see what it shot like.
To tell the truth, I was impressed. Maybe there is something to these modern guns.
But, to me, growing up with guns in the 50s and 60s, I miss the hand workmanship that guns used to have.

Welcome from Texas sbroadwell. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Agree with you to some extent that the older revolvers have a special place in my heart, but I bet my life on my M&P 45 ACP.
