New from S&W...2023 SPEC SERIES M&P® 9 METAL M2.0

This is what I'm talking about.

I sure wouldn't mind one of them in .40.

If only they would make one of their new guns in their own cartridge. This especially would be fantastic in .40. I would not have to think twice about buying one then. Same goes for .45 and 10mm. The market for full size 9mm handguns is so oversaturated that it's hard to get one that stands out. This does, but I would much rather get another beretta 92 series or even a 59xx. The market for .40, .45, and 10mm is far from saturated(especially .40), so if they decided to make this in any of those calibers, a lot of us would be more interested. I like to see these new offerings from Smith and Wesson, but it would be nice if they would offer at least one of them in a caliber other than 9mm. Contrary to what they might think, there is a market for larger caliber handguns as well.

I keep hoping with the resurgence of the 10mm, that maybe 40 will make a comeback.

I can understand the 9 MM making the comeback that it has due to better bullet technology and I don't mind it happening at all, hell my preferred carry is 9MM anyways.

But it's been institutionally inbred in me to also prefer a larger caliber, just because I can.

Saw Paul Harrell do a pretty decent ballistic test and the 40 still came out ahead except for the 9mm+P 135 gr FlexLock Critical Duty which preformed identical.

First off, I have to disagree on the quality. I have not had a problem with any S&W I have purchased, new or used. Some of my pistols have had thousands of rounds through them.

Second, you logic is well, illogical. You are claiming that they are sacrificing quality because they are making new variants. Doing one doesn't preclude the other. Not sure about you but, I can walk and chew gum. Pretty sure S&W can also. Kinda feeling a little hate from you on S&W.

Every gunmaker has had issues and recalls. If you want a perfect gun, spend $5k on a Korth, Nighthawk custom or something like that. If you want a great value on a great gun then buy a S&W or something like it.

It is simple, if you bought a base F150, you don't have to throw hate on someone that bought the Raptor and just because they make many models of the same vehicle doesn't mean that they screw them all up.

Just sayin.:D[/QUOTE

Many times today its besta testers that have to deal with the issues found in new firearms or new models and find the fixes like with the 4" 10mm !! To many people are ready to buy as soon as something new is advertised . It is to easy to read of the problems with the firearms found on this forum but also on others maybe to a leaser degree currently .

Thanks for your entertaining reply .

Just sayin !

I posted how much I liked my M&P metal and was told I was stupid and polymer guns were better and the only reason I liked it was because how much it cost. I would buy this gun in a heartbeat and might when my LGS has one in stock.

Yes it is very unfortunate that sometimes the firearms community does attract some real childish mother ******s to it.

I say get it and enjoy the hell out of it!

Who cares what some random hand job on the Internet says anyways. Bless their childish little hearts.

Definitely update us here with what you think of it.

I'm sure the majority of grown ups here would definitely like to hear how you like it.

Some heads are also going to explode, but the fireworks will be amusing.

It is entertaining to watch some treads like this one and see some of the folks with a childs mentality get so flustered .

What I like about the Metal series is that with 17 rounds in a mag my 4.25” Metal only weighs 2 ounces heavier than the polymer. I have several Metal Sigs and the weight on those guns is a lot more than either of the Metal series.

It isn’t just Sig that are producing Metal guns I believe Walther just came out with the PDP so I applaud Smith for being able to make one as well.

So I did indeed buy this pistol, shot it today at the range and it was very pleasent to shoot. The comp helps with muzzle rise and I was able to double tap steel at twelve yards. I would say that my AXG Legion has a little less muzzle rise probably because that gun is a heavy full size gun with a comp built into the slide.

Eventually this gun will have an Eotech Eflx on it as well.

Mounted the eflx haven’t decided if it will stay and if it does I need to order a steel plate.

I just grabbed a Competitor edition yesterday hope to get out on Saturday I already have about 150 handloads and a bag of 500 coming from Starline. I have to say I'm impressed with this gun the trigger is really good out of the box. I'm not crazy about the plastic so hope I can install some metal parts in the future depending on how they are holding up. I had a spare Delta Point Pro so I slapped it on there. Looking for some holster advice or recommendations if anyone has any. I have been looking at the gunfighters any good ?
