Hello all, I'm new to this forum. I'm not new to firearms. I have a small collection of gun that is still growing. I currently have a sw40ve, Ruger lcr, and a Winchester 12 ga.. Here are a few pics of my moded sigma, and the mods include.

Polished slide (sides)
Fully polished barrel
Full trigger polish
Feed ramp polished
Sear springs removed
Green & orange dot sights
Mag floor plate rounded

Maybe some I'm forgetting

Welcome! Were you able to measure your trigger pull? I'm interested to hear what it is after all of your modifications.

Welcome you will find some very knowledgeable and helpfull people here. Great looking Sigma too.
Dave

Nice looking Sigma. Let us all know how she shoots after the modifications. A before and after would be nice.

Thanks for the welcomes.

Polishing. I used Emory boards, 400, 800, 1500 grit papers. Then then to the trusty Dremel with the flex extension and buffing wheel using the black and then white stick compound.

Best advise with the polishing is take your time, don't get too aggresive , and don't get the metal hot with the compounds and buffing or your slide will have a blue hue.

As far as how she shoots. Ten times better than out of the box, imo. I did remove the pig tail and outer spring. I polished the sear, sear block or retainer if you will, and the link from the trigger to the sear in the same fashion as the slide and barrel. I also filed down the inside edges of the sear retainer, so no rough edges or burrs.

Trigger pull is smooth as glass, no more gritty feeling. The pull I'm guessing 6-7# I don't have a trigger pull scale yet, so maybe soon I will be able to give an exact.

Thanks again for welcoming me. If you have any other questions just ask.

Well you know how the before is, stout, gritty trigger, pulling the barrel down and shooting low.

Now imo like glass.

I have only had 2 malfunctions, both were where the casing ejected and the slide locked back as if the mag was empty. The mag wasn't empty just the next round don't chamber.

One of the times happened stock out of the box and the other was after the mods. Using the same ammo 165 fmj's on different days and different box of ammo from the same ammo company.

So after 500 rounds though this gun,was it the gun or the ammo you be the judge.

What are the black and white stick compounds and where do I get them?

Home Depot is the cheapest. In the tool section. I think you can just buy the sticks or get a kit with sticks and big buffing wheel for use with a drill. I wouldn't use the big wheels unless you want to polish the whole slide.

If you do this the black stick is for hard metals such as stainless steal, red sticks are for softer metals. The white stick is for getting the bright shine use it after the black as the black is more aggressive. Anything else let me know.

Oh be sure to tape up anything on the slide you don't want sanded or polished. Including the striker hole, cause you will slip up. Good Luck!

Nice work BTW...
But do you have any pics of the magazine base rounded off? In and out of the gun
I have thought about doing this when I stippled my siggies grip...
Thanks......
