Hi! I'm looking for help while upgrading my S&W model 59. It's has been a headache because I haven't been able to find the sight assembly base or any way to put a laser or light on it, so I hope people here that are experts can help me on it!!

Welcome aboard from coastal North Carolina.

I can't help you out with your add-ons request, because I'm not a fan of either battery-powered device for home or self defense. I fear the battery will fail when it is truly needed.

I'm sure others can give you sound advice. If not, night sights and a mini-flashlight are a good combination for both home and personal use.

Enjoy your 59!

Bienvenido a la fogata!

I'm not a fan of either battery-powered device for home or self-defense. Besides worrying about the battery failing when it is truly needed I think they're a crutch that a good shooter should avoid.

Welcome to a great forum from Southwest Florida. I think you’ll like it here. Forum member guzzitaco is the expert in putting a red dot sight on older S&W semi autos. I think they make small lights and lasers that will attach to the trigger guard, but I don’t know how sturdy they are with so little purchase on the gun. A better idea would be to get a newer M&P pistol that is optic ready and has a mounting rail. What are your firearm ownership laws like down there in Ecuador?

Hey! The problem here is that you cannot change the gun that the army has assigned you! So thats why I cannot get an updated one :(

I agree with you! But every time we are going to be deployed, I check my equipment so the batteries won't be a problem!! :)
