Not sure if anyone came up with this option for mounting a single point sling. I wanted to mount a single point sling on the buffer tube, and still keep the option of collapsing the stock all the way. Since my daughter(6 yrs old) shoots this weapon, its a must to have it collapsed.

So I came up with a set up that allows fully collapse of stock and cost little under $9.00 at Wally world

Remove stock and drilled 11/64 hole in bottom of buffer tube.

I bought the sling swivel w/ bolts package, it came w/ a course bolt and fine tread bolt. Use the fine tread. Don't worry about tapping the plastic. Just start it straight and screw it in slowly.

Now you will see that the stock needs to be trimmed to fit around the swivel mount

Bust out the dremel tool and cut out a small section to clear the hardware, clean up the edges with a file and reinstall

The plastic is pretty thick in that area so there is plenty of material to screw the bolt into

All done and stock fully

I love this rifle, so does my daughter. She can shoot a weapon that looks like her dads:D

Thanks for sharing and nice write up. But how much force can that handle before it can start to tear off?

I think the stud is threaded through ½" of material. Its pretty solid and the rifle hardly weighs anything. If you had the means, you could slide the nut down the inside of the buffer tube and then put the stud through the nut, but it would be tough to hold in place.

Bushmaster did the same thing on the AR15 pistol I have, except the stud goes into the retainer plate on the back of the receiver. And its composite also

Looks good though. I bring my 22 hunting and I put on a V-tac sling and when walking through the terrain I know it can put some force on the points of contacts. But overall thanks for sharing.

On my Bushmaster AR pistol I installed the one that goes in front of the buffer tube that came with the Ace one.

to SCVETT01, great job, I wish I had done this, clean and looks solid. Now off the subject, you got a Vette also, your avatar kinda gives it away. I got a 1999 C5 Black on Black...

might just do this....was really wanting a single point sling

i might do a grip-sert or something if i can get one to fit
