I have been enjoying this forum for awhile despite not owning any S&W handguns myself. I have owned them in the past but my current revolvers have been other makes. Today I remedied that and bought a 637-2. Since I cannot go to the range until tomorrow, I passed the time handloading some ammo for tomorrow, and window shopping online for a holster and some grips.

I need some help.

On the holster, I would just like to ask for suggestions for an IWB holster that is under $75. I have an ankle holster and a pocket holster from my last J frame but have no IWB.

On the grips, I am striking out here. I want grips that are:

1. larger than the stock grips;
2. under $75;
3. without finger grooves; and
4. for a square butt J frame

I can find grips that meet 3 out of 4 of my criteria but not all 4. Several choices out there, including Pachmayer and Hogue, if I had a round butt, but I have a square butt. Custom grips would work but not for my price level. The Compac looks good but it looks like it is actually smaller than the factory grips.

I could live with the finger grooves if necessary, but prefer not to.

I am also confused with the round butt-square butt thing. Was this a thing that changed at some point? I assume my revolver was made a while ago since current grips I am finding are mostly round butt in shape.

Can someone steer me in the right direction?
Thanks.

Oops, you guys are right, it is round butt. I saw the squared off bottom and thought that meant it was square.

I have a few iwb holsters and find that I use this more than others for my j frames. It's very comfy except for my 3" which sticks out of the bottom and pokes me in the side.

Got to agree with Two Bit Cowboy with Altamont and Simply Rugged. I've got a set of Rosewood Boot grips on my 637 and they look and feel great! Mine do have the finger grooves though. I've also got a Silver Dollar Pancake from Simply Rugged that I can use for the 637 and my 60-15. Mostly though I carry the 637 in a Mika pocket holster. If I'm going to carry a gun on my hip I'll carry a larger wheelgun like one of my K frames.
