I just bought a new Leupold scope for my CZ 453 American 22 rimfire rifle and sighted it in today. WOW - is all I can say!! It is a Model #110822 Rimfire Ultralight VX2 3-9 X 33mm with EFR (extra focal range) and Parallax adjustable from 10 yards to infinity.

The rifle has had a Burris Signature Compact R/A 6X scope on it. for the past 5 years and I always had great results. The Burris was a fine scope but my eyes are getting a bit older and I wanted the variable power feature and a larger objective - hence the new scope. Now my son has the Burris on his .22.

I have to report that this new Leupold is the best scope I have ever owned, and maybe one of the best I have ever tried. It isn't cheap, but in combination with the CZ 453 I now have a precision tack driver - maybe a PIN driver. If anybody is in the market for a great rimfire scope I would highly reco this one!

They make a great scope. I bought one to put on a rifle for my sons 13th birthday gift and after shooting it a few times I'm about to get one for my rifle.

I have a 15 year old Pentax Lightseeker that has killed piles of deer and still works...but it looks like junk compared to the Leupold.

I'm sure you'll like that scope for a long time.

Sounds good. I want a new Browning T Bolt. The Leupold you recommend would look good on it!

That CZ is well worth a great scope. They're the best bang for the buck in any rimfire this ole fellow's ever owned.

Great combo! Enjoy

chief38, I fully agree and use the same scope on most of my using rimfire rifles. Once you have made the change to Leupold it is hard to go back to any other brand.

I agree with Joe, I own six Leupolds - from .22mag up to .45-70, you can't beat their warranty either.

I was so enamored by the Leupold yesterday I ventured out to the Range again today.I would post the targets but my scanner isn't working right now. One hole at 50 yards - you just can't miss with this thing. :) I only wish I'd realized how good these Leupolds were years ago. Not that the Burris was bad, "but it ain't no Leupold"!

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the rubbery (too soft) lens cover. I called Optics Planet and ordered the Aluminex screw on covers which will work much better than the rubber band.

Now I just hope the supply of 22 LR ammo eases up so I can feed this rifle.

What ammo are you shooting through that CZ? As much as I like Leupold, I believe your tight groups have a lot more to do with the CZ, than the scope... I bought one for my son (the smaller 'Scout' version), and it shoots great. Real tight chambers in those guns.

The SK Jag/Wolf Extra are reasonably priced ammo that shoot great in most .22's.

Lapua Center X is tough to beat at it's price point and the two newer target offerings from Federal shoot well for me too.

Leupold is the "beginning of the good glass" it goes up from there. As Iv'e gotten older I can afford better glass for my rifles. I started with Leupold and still have my first Leupold, traded a Win. 94 30-30 for a Leupold VX II 3X9 X40 which I still have.I just wish Leupold offered more mil-dot options or a ballistic reticle similar to Zeiss on more of their scope models. I have come to dislike duplex reticles on my scopes, punching holes in paper @100yds their fine, not so good for long range work.

You can't go wrong with Leupold, quality glass with a lifetime warranty. I just mounted their 2 x 7 rimfire scope on a new 10/22 great optics and perfect size.

dmar:

My CZ will shoot ONE HOLE GROUPS with almost any High Velocity ammo like Federal Champion, Winchester Wildcats, American Eagle, CCI, etc. The groups open up when I use standard velocity ammo including Eley Match.

I have had this rifle for years and it has always shot incredible, but the previous scope was not as clear, not as large and and not even close to how bright this one is. The Leupold just makes it easier to shoot well.

I do realizethere are better and higher priced scopes out there, but after shooting some rifles with Zeiss and Swar. scopes I feel there is definitely a point of diminishing return for the buck.

I have the same scope and totally agree!

While I have never used this rifle, I have seen many good reports. I just have never used anything but a LEUPOLD SCOPE. I have never had a complaint. All mine are old like me, but unlike me, they still work fine. ;) :)
