Hi Guys!
Went to visit an old friend today and after a cup of coffee and a nice chat, he ( and his wife) asked me if I could help them by getting rid of an old revolver and some ammo that had been lying around the house since the mid 60s. Since I'm a really helpful guy, I couldn't refuse this arduous task, and was given an old Smith and Wesson .38 spl and a really old pack of .38 spl ammo. A friend of his had gotten it from an American sailor in 1964 and sold it to my friend to finance a night on the town a couple of years later. He'd fired a few shots with it, but preferred rifle shooting so it had been stashed away and never used after that. I took it home and had a look in the "Standard catalogue of Smith and Wesson" and from the serial number V5642XX it seems to be produced some times between 1942 and 1945. Sadly the lanyard ring is missing, but apart from that it's in decent shape and are capable of good groupings. It has an engraving on the top that says "US Property GHD" Is it possible to find out exact which year it's from and what it'll be worth? Here's a few pictures to show the condition.
