I just bought a new M&P 357 sig SKU# 309702 from Cabela's in Maine on Friday. I just have a couple questions 1)The pistol comes with factory night sights however, there are no markings on them like the display model had (trijicon).
2)Using the date code on the case (1076) how would that be read? 2011? 2010?

Thanks

Looking at those numbers more closely (1076) I don't think that means 2010. Any thoughts? My serial prefix is DVX****

Probably not 2010?? I wouldn't worry about it though, even if it is. I bought a new Sig P239 last month and it was dated 2009. Three years?? Well, I couldn't be happier.

Would the 1 in "1076" represent 2011? The case that my pistol came in is the newer and smaller blue plastic case. The only problem was it had the incorrect spent casing envelope with it (9mm casing with 03-17-2011) from the factory.

I just sent an email to Smith and Wesson customer support in regards to the "born on date". I have been looking on guns America and notice that the M&P pro's don't have markings on their night sights either. I guess the Novak night factory sights are different then the Trijicons but they look identical.
Still seems strange that I had the wrong spent case envelope with my pistol.

The code is the Julian date. In your case, the 076th day of 2011, which was March 17th, same as your spent casing.

Well that makes sense...Still a bit strange how I ended up with a 9mm casing with a different serial number envelope (my case SN# labels match my gun).

I bought this particular gun that day due to the fact it was a law enforcement package SKU# 309702 with night sights and Cabela's had the price at $519.00 down from $640.00. It may have sat in the warehouse because 357sig is not very popular here in Maine. I wanted a nice penetrating round for winter carry and deep woods hiking.
