So I ended up buying a new .380 body guard today for pocket carry. I am going to try and run a few hundred rounds through it in the next week or so.

S&W is blowing out their last models with a laser. I ended up talking down the clerk to the discounted price. Not that much savings but every few dollars helps. Besides I ended up buying a holster at that store and ammo.

Read the old post about things to watch for, mainly the laser screw.

Have never had a problem with our BG with any type of ammo we fed it. Hope yours is as trouble free as ours is.

My wife loves hers, and I carried it occasionally before I got my Shield 9. I didn't realize they were phasing out the laser model.

The BG 380 equipped with the laser is a good little pistol. I would recommend adding a dab of blue Loctite to the threads of the laser set screw and you'll be good to go.

My BG is also sans laser making a very compact and concealable pistol. I have let friends shoot mine (it has about 200 rounds through it) and have had very favorable replies. It certainly is not a target pistol but works just fine up close and personal. I use only FMJ in all my pistols ( without starting the inevitable bullet controversy) which operate flawlessly in the BU.

I bought one in August. They had both with and without laser, i choose no laser with no hesitation.

Mine came with two different magazines. One that extends down with an added area for the third finger, the other one doesn't have the extension. Didn't notice it till shooting at the range. When the shorter magazine is almost empty, it get's noticeably jumpier in the hand. Not complaining, for a concealable weapon, It is exactly what I wanted. Slips into a back or front pocket nicely. In a pocket, I often put a thin notepad in front of it to keep it from "printing". I have a leather wallet holster, but I find it too bulky. Besides, the notebook comes in handy. I can jot down all those errant thoughts before I forget them for the hundredth time.

I prefer the front pocket, it feels more secure, but keys, coins, and the leathermen wind up going in there too. They all fit in there as comfortably as the damn Iphone 6 in the other pocket. Problem is I can't stand the thought of all that metal rubbing up against my .380. So it often slides into a back pocket. Luckily I mostly wear carhartt jeans.

For your own safety pls. don't carry anything else in the pocket where your M&P resides. There are many posts on the bad outcome from doing this, do a search.

+1 on this....with a pocket holster. Dedicate a pocket to carrying the gun. You'll be glad you did. ;)

+1. I've got over 1000 rounds through mine without any problems - regardless to the brand of ammo fired. Hornady Critical Defense is my SD round for carry.

I had an LCP that I traded in on my shield. Great gun but too big for EDC. I ended up researching and I Decided on the BG. HOPEFULLY going to run some rounds through it this weekend. This gives me 3 from the M&P line.

was carrying bodyguard till a few days ago when this Ferguson craziness started. now back to carrying the 9c with backup 15 round clip.

Sort of crazy. The Ferguson thing has set the country back 40 years. An eye opener for many people.

The same exact reason I bought a Shield 9 and got rid of my .380, and I've started carrying everytime I leave the house, not because I'm paranoid, but to get comfortable being armed, plus better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. still have the BG for the Missus to carry. I feel pretty safe in OK but there are crazies everywhere.

I am seeing a lot of used BG380's around. What is wrong with them that they are being sold off by the owners?
