just had to say about my 45 not going into battery, and read on here about ejector spring being to tough. Well i have taken my ejector out and notice how much it was binding so I got ou my grease lube I us on my guns and give her a good lube job seems to move a lot easier , so off to the range , if it ever stops snowing and raining for another test. I will post back when i give it a try. might be a few days

I believe you're talking about the extractor. The ejector is the thing mounted on the sear block. Here is a list of parts just to keep us on the same page: http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-wesson-m-p-pistols/341115-m-p-parts-identification.html Part #7 is what I think we're talking about.

I had a similar problem with my M&P 45. It looked like this:

If this is what's happening to your gun, mine was fixed by replacing the extractor. S&W sent me one for free. Not a single failure to feed since.

that is exactly what mine looks like when it jambs up , "extractor" , I will try a few more rounds and see if it still acts up if so I will call for a new one . thanks for you help

I just called s&w about the extractor replacement , they insist that I return it to them so they can see what is the problem, they seem to think that it might be something else . so off to the shop she goes, updates as it returns

well just heard back from s&w seems i have a bad extractor, ha ha ha . why they would not send one I do not know , oh well as well I also had issues with the sights and they put on new ones on . so hopefully I will have a good gun. I have to say for 500 bucks I am a little disappointed. we will see

While a tight extractor or defective extractor spring could often be the cause of this sort of failure-to-feed & return to battery, there are some other things that could cause this symptom, too. Probably why they wanted to strongly encourage you to return the gun for inspection. They can run the laser across the slide and barrel to check for tolerances, replace the RSA, inspect the magazines, etc.

well finally got my m&p 45 back from factory new extractor and sights, needs a bath bad real dirty. so clean her up take her to the range and also load up some polymer bullets in different strength and see what will work for practice ammo.

yes they are coated to lessen copper fouling , made byEggleston Munitions, have not tried any yet will get back and let you know what i think of them

ok i will let you know , they are also lower in cost then I would have expected. I actually got some in red white and blue at discounted price, for trial loads I just used them according to how hot I was loading white was mild blue was mid rage and red will be hot , after I work up a load that I like they all will get same loads, they have other pistol sizes as well

OK, I just read up on them. They reduce lead fouling not copper fouling. These are lead bullets coated with polymer. Comparing them with 45- 200 RN I'm not sure saving $2/500 is enough to make me switch.

Even so, I'm not set in my ways. I'm still interested to hear how they perform.

reporting back on returned m&p 45 acp , all is well the gun performed flawlessly and had no jambs or malfunction at any level, I am thinking this is going to be a good gun very happy with results. also on the polymer coated bullets a plus on using them so far mid rang loading seem to be the place for target shooting no tumbles nice tight grouping ,no issues with brass I think I am going to like them . these are cheaper than berry's bullets and perform just as well have not cleaned the gun yet but not expecting any issues, quite a load off of my shoulders now with having a good gun and test loads being good . also on another note got the little woman to shoot the 45, surprised the living s&%% out of me, she will not shoot a gun with a recoil , but she just walked right up next to me with that funny little grin on her face and I asked her , would you like to shoot this, she said if you don't mind but only one bullet in it at a time afraid of multiple shooting reaction . she even had a smile on her face, and did very well on grouping ,I might end up loosing a gun to her, oh well I will have to buy another one .
